So the boyfriend, we can call him Wingman, has given me some much needed inspiration, and at the present moment, I'm acting on said inspiration. His brillos idea, which will not be mentioned here until I complete the project, has given me the idea to create a couple series of posters. This is going to be very cool, or at least I think so, when I'm done. I hope you, Dear Reader, will enjoy them just as much once I get them posted up here!
The Woodstock Artists Association and Museum (WAAM) is accepting submissions for the upcoming show The Under 40 Show. If your a local artist, within 50 miles of Woodstock that can drop off/pick up your work in person, check out the prospectus here! The deadline for submissions is October 6, so hurry yourself up and get submitting! I know I'm submitting a piece, so why don't you?
This weather is deffo putting a damper on things. Keeps raining and it's just ick outside. Gross. At least I can get some book design done in the crappy weather. I've decided to re-vamp the FiMfic I started laying out. Awhile back, I started putting the FiMfic "Past Sins" into book form, but I've never actually gotten it printed. Glad I didn't do it yet, cause I just decided I want to change the size and push some things around. So on that note, off I go!
Gah! It has been wayy too long since my post now hasn't it? Yes it has been, so therefore, I'm going to remedy this situation immediately. Seeing as I don't have any particularly interesting projects at the moment, I've decided you all should check out my BFF's blog: Pink Forsythia.
Bjean's blog is pretty amazing. Not to mention crafty..Bjean is the most crafty person I know, and I'd like to say I get some of my inspiration from her. She is the one that introduced me to the bug know as Photoshop that started this whole madness..lol. Bjean can make the most gorgeous things out of the most ordinary things and you would think it's a boutique item. Love that girl. But enough from me..go over to her blog and check it out for yourself!
So I got me some supplies to finally make sketchbooks. I figure once I can stockpile a few, Etsy store here I come.
In the meantime, the plan is to make a limited run of each different paper cover. Paper covers are gonna be made from various papers (handmade, scrapbook, or otherwise) I can get my hands on. Other covers will be made out of the traditional bookcloth, and since I have more of that, more editions of bookcloth covered books will be made.
Finished the Fantasia! And since it is mostly pink and purple with some white sprinkled in, I call it the Rarity Pie. A cross between the ponies Rarity and Pinky Pie. And if there really was a pony with that name, oh I can only imagine the insanity that would ensue..lol.
So an awesome Brazilian designer has decided to match the Angry Birds with their respective Pantone swatches. Me likey. Angry Birds is by far my favorite iOS game, and combining it with my favorite color people, Pantone, just makes this project that much more awesome. Enjoy.
So I dug this old bike out of my attic yesterday, and now I've decided I'm going to rebuild it.
Only problem being, I don't know any of it's past history, and lo and behold, there is a scant amount of info available on vintage Huffy bikes, unless it's a boy's and it's a BMX bike. Grr, so on with the search. The only thing I know for sure, is that my brother picked it off a trash pile when we were kids, and now I've decided to bring it back to life. I've gotten a couple serial numbers off the frame, so maybe more digging will turn up new resources.
In the mean time, I've figured out it's not a My Little Pony bike as I had once hoped (I'm a Brony for those of you who don't know), but that's ok. The banana seat has a fading unicorn on it, and that's just fine with me. I plan on tracking down all the MLP bike accessories I can. It will be a MLP bike, or at least my version of one, by the end of summer. But in any case, the paint job, fenders, and aforementioned unicorn, remind me of Rarity from MLP:FiM, so the bike will be called Rarity. Let the work begin!
Just found a random pic on a site, and this is a Huffy Fantasia, and according to the serial number, it was built on Feb. 21, 1980. Score +1 for the interwebs!
